Fish Crazy!

Since we brought home our fish tank we have visited plenty of pet and fish stores.  Jena's favorite store has a shark, jelly fish and three large tanks outside with koi fish.  She will sit outside and watch the koi fish for as long as possible.  She loves their colors and how they seem excited to see her... the fish think they might get fed, but it seems more enamoring to think they are very friendly.  Here's a picture of her watching her new little friends.  It was quite hot and humid that day and her curly hair sure shows it.

Basket Full of Fun!

Jena and Taylor had another busy day.  One funny thing they did together was empty out their two toy baskets and jump inside.  Jena thought they were racing cars and Taylor just seemed to be happy Mommy was letting it all happen.

Of course after all the toys were out of the baskets Jena figured they all needed a nap.  She threw them in Taylor's crib and climbed in herself.  If only the nap wasn't pretend and lasted longer than 5 minutes.  It was pretty amazing to see how many stuffed animals they actually have and that this wasn't all of them.

We ended the day with Jena and Mommy making banana muffins.  She loves pouring the ingredients into the bowl and of course, licking the spoons and spatula afterwards.  Once the spoon was cleaned Jena looked around for the next snack.  She saw a little pile of flour and figured she'd give it a try.  Yuck!  After licking another spoon she tried the flour again.  Yuck!  I guess she just figured if the flour went into making something so tasty, how could it taste so bad and she better try it twice just to make sure!

I walked in the room and this is how Taylor looked.
And I just had to take a few pictures.

Balloon Animals

We were so excited that Jeffrey, Miquelyn, and David came to stay with us.  We had a very fun day at the beach, lots of late nights watching the olympics and an evening trying to make balloon animals without popping the balloons.  I think we managed 3 successfully: a dog, a monkey and a few bananas for the monkey :)  Hopefully by next time we will have an inflatable mattress that doesn't deflate over night.  I'm pretty sure mom has a few we could borrow indefinitely.

We love you all and are so glad you came!

Yea! So much fun!

Pool Party!

Grandma Sue and Papa Rod picked up this adorable little pool and the girls are nuts about it. Jena loves the slide and will go down it over and over again. Taylor loves filling the pool with the hose and is constantly climbing in and out of the pool. Mommy and Daddy watch with delight and only wish we had a video camera that worked. For now these cute pictures will have to do!

Our happy little girl!

Taylor not quite sure about the slide!?!

All About the Accessories!

Lately, Jena is not ready until she has all her accessories.  Most of the time we can't leave the house unless she has her hat and glasses.  Sometimes her choices go really well with the outfit and  other times she looks very eccentric.  Today, she paired her Curious George pajamas with a butterfly jacket, a purple and yellow backpack, teal purse and an orange balloon hat.  She is such a fun girl!

Fun with Grandma and Papa

Grandma Sue and Papa Rod came up for the weekend and we had a great time. Sue and Jeanne worked on a few crafting projects, Rod and Ryan worked hard in the backyard and Jena and Taylor kept us all on our toes. We love our grandparents so much and can't wait to see you again. THANK YOU again for everything!!!

Water Babies

If these girls had the choice they would play outside with the water all day long.  Today, they filled buckets with water from the sprinkler.  Taylor liked pouring it all over herself as fast as she could.  Jena, on the other hand, patiently waited for the buckets to fill.  Summer is very exciting for these little water babies.

Can't this fill faster?

Cute little girls!

Monkey Say, Monkey Do!

Taylor loves to wear this funny monkey hat and most of the time she puts it on backwards with the tail in her face.  Tonight I had to get a picture because the backwards hat with her sagging pajama pants created the cutest little gangster I've ever seen.

Jena came up to me earlier and in her deepest voice said, "Mommy, I'm a boy. I'm a boy."  Then switching to a high pitch soprano squeal she said, "I'm a girl" and then giggled at how funny she thought she had been.

What silly monkeys!

Jena's Exciting Day!

Today was a very exciting day for Jena.  She loves to paint and those "paint with water books" are the greatest.  She can paint page after page until the entire table is filled with her artwork.  She concentrates really hard and barely takes her eyes off the paper until it's complete.

She also decided that since Taylor was asleep and mommy was cleaning the kitchen, she would create a tower of couch cushions.  She climbed on the tower, jumped onto the pile from the couch and marched on the empty couch.  She even graced mommy with a sweet smile to show how excited she was... that's our cute girl!

The last exciting news is that she's finally decided that she likes panties.  After telling her last night how a few of her cousins wear big kid underwear, she figured maybe she would like it too.  We went almost the whole day without diapers and had more successes than mishaps.  One of the cutest things was when we were playing outside, Jena exclaimed, "Mommy, the pee pee is coming" and then we raced inside.  Hopefully tomorrow will be another exciting day for our big girl Jena!

Two Cute Moments

Taylor has been known to be somewhat of a mommy's girl... but here's to show everyone that she really does love her daddy and loves spending time with him too.

Here's one of the greatest toys ever, a Costco box.  After a week or so we finally threw it away, but the girls thought it was wonderful and even shared a few moments pretending together.
