Upside Down Day!

Earlier this week Mommy left the room with Jena dressed normally and came back into the room with Jena dressed the way she wanted... with her shorts on her head and her legs through the arms of her shirt.  She was so proud because she had done it all by herself.

Daddy's Hats

Our little girls love daddy's hats!  Maybe it's because daddy wears them almost all the time he's not working or maybe it's because they are BYU and Charger fans through and through or more likely it is because they know just how cute they are wearing them.

What a little doll!

Holly Crap!

When mommy and the girls were in Vegas we noticed that my younger siblings like to teach their nephew and niece somewhat questionable phrases. Such as "Guess what?... Chicken butt, guess who? ... Chicken poo." While the rest of us were quite amused, my sister was very irritated with the group of teenagers and adults that were encouraging this behavior. Well, earlier this week Jena was riding her bike around the table.  She was chasing Taylor and laughing as she gained speed around the turns.  She turned around one edge and realized she was going way to fast (don't worry grandmas, it wasn't that fast) and ran straight into the ironing board (mommy was feeling crafty this week and mommy only irons when she sews).  A little startled with the impact, she exclaimed "holly crap!"  Now I was sitting on the couch at the time thinking, "did she really say that?" and then she looked at me and said it two more times.  She followed this by saying, "mommy I do it again, crash and then holly crap?"  So apparently she sensed I was somewhat amused and figured she might as well try it again.  Luckily I dissuaded her from the idea and came up with something else for her to do.  I realized that I need to mask my amusement, so that a funny incidence doesn't become a never ending habit because at that point I'd be the one not laughing anymore.

Happy Father's Day!

We are so grateful for our wonderful daddy!  We love to both jump on daddy at the same time and always want to sit on his lap.  He is so funny and playful.  We love our daddy so much!  He is the most amazing daddy ever!  We sure are lucky!

Jena jumps for joy!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

The girls got home just in time for Mommy's birthday.  Sweet Ryan had the house cleaned and flowers placed around the house.  Mommy spent the day just hanging out with the girls and relaxing after the trip to Vegas.  What a sweet husband and a Happy Birthday!

Trip to Vegas

The girls and mommy headed out to Vegas for Jennifer's graduation. It was very interesting thinking back to my graduation and knowing how exciting the next few years are going to be for Jennifer. Ryan and I always say if we could go back, we would hang out in college a few more years. Those were fun days with relatively less to worry about, but here we our in our crazy life, enjoying out daily challenges. Anyway, back to the Vegas trip... We had such a fun time with my family. During the day we enjoyed swimming in the pool, playing in the backyard and shopping at the mall. During the evenings we played cards, rocked out to Rock Band, roasted marshmallows for smoores and watched Jonny and Jeffrey catch scorpions and vinegaroons (seriously). There's always something happening at my parents home and with ten or so extra people the week was a giant party. We had a blast!

One of Jena's favorite things about Grandma and Grandpa's house was exploring Jennifer and Jeanette's rooms. There she found sunglasses, jewelry, makeup, stuffed animals, shoes and lots & lots of chocolate. She always found a new treasure with each exploring adventure. Plus she loved climbing the stairs to get there.

Taylor loved riding in this little car, especially when she was in complete control of the car.

Here are Jena and Taylor enjoying the trampoline with their cousins Tristen and Travis.

Jena and Jonny rocking out!

Jonny, Jeffrey, Mommy, Jena and Taylor grooving to the tunes. Yes, I played most of the songs with Taylor or Jena on my lap. That way both my legs got a workout as I played the drums.

Two of our Favorite Things

Of course two of our favorite things are our two crazy girls, but here are two of their favorite things.

Our little girls are magnetized to the backyard.  They each love different things about being outside.  Jena loves not wearing clothes and playing with the hose.  We've been trying to teach her how to water a few parts of the lawn that our dry (for instance the dry spot behind her in the picture), but she likes to water the dirt better.  Who doesn't like mud?

Taylor loves rocks.  All rocks: dirty or clean, smooth or rough.  For some reason her favorite place to keep them is her mouth.  So it will be a while before mommy and daddy can totally relax when Taylor is exploring the great outdoors.  Taylor's second favorite thing is the sand box.  She plays and plays.  She must be our tactile girl.

Jena even likes to get herself wet with the hose.

The perfect size wagon for little Taylor.

Sweet Ride...

Ryan started a new job with a medical diagnostic company.  We are waiting for his company car to arrive in August and until then we have a rental.  The other day Ryan set off to pick up the car, all the way dreading the vehicle he would be confined in for the next two months.  To our surprise the only car currently available was a Mustang convertible.  Needless to say Ryan feels like a teenager running around in his hot wheels.  The other day we took the girls for a spin and Jena loved it.  She must get that love for the wind in her hair from daddy.  Little Taylor on the other hand was only excited when we stopped moving.  So, for the mean time we are loving our little convertible and are so grateful that the car we were suppose to get was unavailable.
